Canada Post Strike

CANADA POST STRIKE INFORMATION

UPDATE 15 JUNE 2025
Minister of Jobs and Families, Patty Hajdu, has chosen to accept Canada Post’s request to force a vote on their "final offer". The date for the vote has not yet been set and CUPW leadership is recommending their members vote to reject the offer. Their overtime ban remains in effect.
I am still recommending customers avoid using the postal service until a resolution is reached, though mail has been moving pretty well do far.
It's difficult to know what is best for you and for my business, which is suffering financially due to this ongoing dispute. A second consecutive holiday season in this situation is a distressing possibility. I continue to strive to provide the best service possible and to make decisions that benefit my customers first.
I wish for a quick and satisfactory resolution to the dispute for the union membership.
******************************
Hi friends. As you may have heard, Canada Post workers are on strike again, six months after they were ordered back to work. Currently they have enacted a ban on any overtime hours, so parcels are moving through the system with some delays. They can change to rotating strikes or a full strike/work stoppage at any time.

How does this effect your order?
Nestling Keepsakes has many shipping options to send your order that do not involve Canada Post so that part of our service is not disrupted, however, getting your fabric to me, especially for Canadians, will be more costly for the duration of the strike.

CANADIAN CUSTOMERS
Canada Post is the least expensive option for most people for shipping within Canada, but there is a very real chance for your fabric to be delayed until a deal is reached.
The alternatives are couriers such as Purolator, FedEx, UPS, etc. If you would like to wait until the CP strike is over to send your fabric, I can work with that. Please let me know what your preference is so I can adjust my timelines accordingly and contact you once the strike has resolved.

US CUSTOMERS
Please use a courier, such as UPS or FedEx, rather than USPS, to send your fabric. It is especially important to value your parcel at $20 or less, as the couriers tend to have very expensive brokerage fees if they have to process taxes or duty at the border, and that cost will be billed to you. Parcels worth $20 or less are currently not subject to tax and duty.
