It’s been a long time since I’ve done a #meetthemaker post, so... Hi! I’m Cara, and I’m the main maker here at Nestling Kids Keepsakes (I have a wonderful assistant who also happens to be my mother and couldn’t do it without her).
I started Nestling Kids in 2015, less than a year after my family and I moved from Vancouver to a small town in the Okanagan wine country. I taught myself how to use a sewing machine with Youtube videos and lots of mistakes, and started an Etsy store making mainly custom dolls and baby name banners. Over the years our products have changed quite a lot, focussing on baby keepsake and memorial teddy bears and other stuffed animals. I’m immensely proud of everything we’ve accomplished.
We’re a homelearning family with one son, and my husband of almost 14 years, Kirk Sheppard, is an amazing tattooer. We love our lives here in the Okanagan and thank our clients for their support over the years.
