Fabric

Yes! We have used everything from baby outfits, adult sweaters, pyjamas, pillow cases, quilts, even school uniforms. We cannot use real fur, leather, lace or sheer fabric. If you have any questions about whether your fabric will work, please contact us before ordering.

Onesies (also called bodysuits, creepers, diaper shirts) and little pants, even multiple ones, are too small to use for the main parts of our keepsake animals, but we can use them as the accent fabric (ears, paws, snout) in most cases. If you have a special onesie or two piece outfit, feel free to send them along with something larger, such as a footed sleeper or blanket.

Please send freshly laundered, stain- and damage-free fabric for your keepsake whenever possible. We will try to avoid using stained parts of your fabric, though with baby clothes we generally cannot avoid using any part of the clothing. Stains can become more darker and more pronounced when we prepare your fabric for sewing and will be noticeable on the completed keepsake. We cannot use fabric with holes, though some small holes in a large piece of clothing or a blanket can generally be avoided.

The smaller the piece of clothing, the less likely it is that we will be able to match up stripes, but we will always do our best to make the pattern pieces complement each other. Our goal is always to make the most attractive keepsake each and every time.

Timelines and Shipping

Our production turnaround time for most orders is currently about 12 weeks from our receipt of your fabric. For orders of more than 4 items, that timeline can be extended by up to 2 additional weeks, depending on our current workload. We ship on Tuesday each week. We are located in Oliver, BC, Canada, and ship throughout Canada and the United States (including AK, HI and APO). Due to increasingly complicated tax and import laws, we no longer ship outside of Canada and the US.

No, shipping costs vary widely according to parcel size and region so this is not possible. Customers find that sending their fabric by postal service (Canada Post/USPS) to be the most reliable and economical. Generally small padded envelopes cost about US$12-15 to mail from the US to Canada with tracking. Larger parcels will cost more - please contact your local postal service for more information.

We require fabric be sent in promptly after payment to keep our timelines fair and accurate. We reserve the right to cancel your order if we have not received your fabric within 4 weeks of purchase. If you are purchasing for an event, such as a baby shower, please use our gift card option. Gift cards do not have an expiry date and the recipient can use it to order whatever keepsake they choose.

Designs and Sewing Patterns

Our waitlist for custom designed keepsake animals not currently in our menagerie is now closed indefinitely.

Please have a look at as many photos of our keepsakes as you can prior to ordering to get an idea of how completed keepsakes will look. You can trust us to make the best choices to highlight your special fabrics on your keepsake animal. If you have ideas on how you would like specific pieces of your fabric to be used, please let us know and we will follow your requests whenever possible.

We only sell completed keepsakes, not sewing patterns or tutorials. Most of our patterns are designed in house.

We apply the same care and materials to each keepsake item we hand craft and and do not offer bulk discounts.

All prices are listed and sold in Canadian Dollars (CAD). If you live outside of Canada, your financial institution will convert the total to your currency for you after payment. To view your local currency on our website before purchase, please select it from the menu in the bottom right of your screen.
